Sky Blue
— This is book three in the Ruby series, and I couldn’t resist reading another Ruby adventure. —

In Sky Blue, Ruby and her trusted companions start the new school year ready to enjoy their eagerly awaited senior status. Equipped with a driver’s license, a car, and a steady boyfriend (Mr. Hotness himself), Ruby feels on top of the world. Unfortunately for Ruby, her mood takes a decidedly southern turn when a beautiful new student arrives and turns her world upside down.

In true Ruby fashion, she sets out to learn the truth about the new girl, and inadvertently lands herself in a dangerous game of finders-keepers with a powerful Fey of Royal blood. When the game turns deadly, Ruby and the crew find themselves on a rescue mission that ends with a no-holds-barred battle, with winner-takes-all stakes. When the dust settles, Ruby is left with new knowledge she does not necessarily welcome, and having to make a decision about where her heart truly belongs.

This third installment from Julie Cassar is downright captivating. The characters have matured, their lives and emotions have become more complex, and their choices have become more critical. The level of complexity in these stories continues to grow with each book in the series, successfully taking both the characters and the reader from the charming innocence of a teenager’s perspective into the emerging sensibilities and outlook of a young adult. This series is a must read for anyone who enjoys adventure, humor, and characters you can grow with.
